Five Things #162

Every Tuesday I share five things I've liked and think you might like too. Here are this week’s Five Things…

  1. You should probably read this if you're a regular users of earbud style headphones. Loud noises directly piped into your ear canal = bad! — Something You Don’t Want to Hear About Earbuds

  2. You may have heard of the 10,000 hour rule, which suggests that it takes 10,000 hours to master a given subject. Well, it turns out it's not that straight forward. — Blow to 10,000-hour rule as study finds practice doesn't always make perfect

  3. A wonderful thread on Twitter of smiling Victorians.

  4. One for the grammar fans. For the record I'm a big fan of the em dash. — The Em Dash Divides

  5. I've been on a bit of a musical quest this last week. I'd got into a bit of a rut only listening to a select few albums and pretty much nothing else. So I started exploring similar artists to those I like thanks to Spotify and Last.fm's related artist features. It's a great way to discover new music. I'm adding my favourite discoveries to my 2019 playlist which you can check out here.

That's all for this week. If you enjoyed it, sign up to my newsletter and you'll get the next one delivered to your inbox.
